A Cannabis Bundle of Joy
"He had been looking for that particular strain for over a year, as the genetics were going to be the answer to his nephew's debilitating neurological condition. His joy filled the room, as that day was the day that he found a way to give his nephew the plant medicine that could save his life. Steady access to that strain, once the plant was processed and readied for a cannabis tincture to prevent seizures and stabilize the neurological system, would be a gameachanger.
And now, he’s a criminal."
(Ask yourself this: What are the motivating factors for cannabis remaining a Category 1 substance? Who benefits? Who loses out? Why?)
A Bit Relevant, a Bit Random
A fleeting, floating thought submitted to us: If 46 out of 50 states have medical cannabis programs, why is this plant still labeled as zero medicinal value? Nearly 43,000 people commented on the DEA reclassifying cannabis. This is unprecedented. But then again, every aspect of cannabis arriving at market is unique.
The List Proves Otherwise
Cannabis has been used for hundreds of years by humans to treat a plethora of ailments and conditions. It’s worth mentioning that there has never been one recorded death attributed to consuming too much cannabis, which is also noted by the DEA. Yet, cannabis remains a Schedule 1 substance, restricting access and research. According the the classification, Schedule 1 drugs lack any medicinal value.
(Consider this: Do you know someone who uses cannabis to address a physical or mental condition? Do you know more than one person? Just how many people do you know who consume cannabis and experience relief? What do their accounts of cannabis consumption indicate?)
Did you know that the more you learn about cannabis history, the more you learn about why cannabis remains a controversial substance?
Spoiler alert: Cannabis prohibition has little to do with the actual plant.

(Helpful reflection: What does Stockton's newest academic program convey about this budding industry in the Garden State? Do their offerings have the potential to impact views on cannabis?)
Learning About Cannabis History...One Entry at a Time
"I've always had a lot of friends. And every day I wish for all the untruths and inaccuracies about me and my family to just float away. My friends are targets because they spend time with me. And so many people have come to believe theses lies and ignore the realities. It doesn't change that fact that I exist to help, not harm."
